About the artist
Stuart Jefka is a specialized filmmaker and muralist turned self-proclaimed entrepreneur and barista, based in Münster, Germany.
Stuart was born in Salzburg, Austria. He grew up in Germany and eventually migrated to the United States with his family when he was fourteen years old. He completed his BA from Eastern Michigan University in 2007. Having studied telecommunications & film, he was never formally schooled in the field of fine arts. All of his artwork is self-motivated and self-taught.
Finding inspiration from sketch artists and cartoonists like Mike Mignola and Charles M. Schulz, the bio-mechanical works of H.R. Giger, and the beautiful frescos by Orozco and Diego Rivera, Stuart began to produce his own styles and illustrations even from an early age. Since then, he has been creating fantastic blends and scenarios for his original and ever-developing array of characters. In recent years, Stuart's artistic style has developed from specialized surface art to complex and large-scale mural paintings and refined art-on-canvas. His technique of intertwining lines, characters, faces, and creatures, as well as overlapping in-lay frames, have become his specialty, and those elements are what distinguish his works from others.
Stuart has painted murals and sold pieces in numerous countries, including South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, South Africa, the US and the UK. He also holds an MA in wildlife documentary production from the University of Salford in Manchester, England. Stuart along with his partner, Holly Dagnan, created the travel series Paws-On, later edited and marketed as Preserve Life, which can be viewed on Stuart's YouTube channel.
